About SMSPilot

What SMSPilot is.

SMSPilot is flight search that runs entirely over text message. No app, no account, no browser tab. Here's how it works as a business — and what it deliberately doesn't do.

The product

A flight search you can text.

SMSPilot is a text-message flight search service. You text where and when you want to fly, in plain English, to +1 (845) 444‑3960. SMSPilot searches an aggregator covering hundreds of airlines and online travel agencies, then texts back three bookable options, cheapest first. If a detail is missing, SMSPilot asks one short question at a time rather than handing you a form.

When you pick a flight, SMSPilot sends a short link to a booking page listing every agency selling that flight with live prices. You tap one and check out on that agency's own site. SMSPilot exists because searching for a flight shouldn't require installing anything or creating an account.

The business model

How SMSPilot makes money

Worth stating plainly, because it explains what SMSPilot will and won't do to your results.

SMSPilot is free to use and adds no booking fee. When you book through an SMSPilot link, the airline or online travel agency pays SMSPilot an affiliate commission. That is the entire business model.

The important consequence: results are sorted by price, cheapest first, regardless of which agency pays SMSPilot what. SMSPilot does not accept payment for placement and does not reorder results in favor of a better-paying partner. Your carrier's standard text-message rates apply the same as any SMS; on most US plans, texts are unlimited.

Straight talk

What SMSPilot doesn't do

The limits are easier to hear up front than to discover later.

Never takes your payment

SMSPilot never sees or stores your card. Payment and seat selection happen on the airline or agency's own site, under their terms.

US numbers only, for now

You need a US mobile number to text SMSPilot, though it can search flights to destinations worldwide.

Isn't an airline or agency

SMSPilot is a search and hand-off service. It doesn't issue tickets, hold reservations, or handle changes, refunds, or cancellations — those go through whoever you booked with.

Doesn't sell your messages

How message data is handled is written out in the privacy policy. Texting STOP opts you out of all messages, permanently, at any time.
